Audio Porn: The Real Story Behind the Title and the Music That Made It
By Nina Capone · October 21, 2026Weekly · Editorial Assist

Let me clear something up right now: when I named my R&B album 'Audio Porn,' I wasn't trying to shock anybody or be provocative just for clicks. The title means something real to me, and it comes from a place most people don't talk about out loud — especially not women over 40 in hip-hop.
Audio Porn is about the sensuality of sound. It's about music that touches you in places words alone can't reach. It's intimate. It's vulnerable. It's the kind of R&B that wraps around you when you're alone at night, when you're remembering, when you're healing, when you're finally ready to feel again. That's what I wanted to create — not something explicit for shock value, but something deeply, unapologetically sensual and human.
I made this album after years of putting everything into building In Da Streets Radio, grinding through the business side of music, and honestly, neglecting the part of me that just needed to sing. Not rap — sing. Because yes, I'm a rapper too, and 'Ova 40' is my RAP album. But Audio Porn is where I let my R&B side breathe. It's where I let Nina the woman show up, not just Nina the CEO or the founder or the grinder.
Creatively, I was in a place where I'd learned to stop apologizing for wanting pleasure, intimacy, and softness in my life. I'd spent so long being strong, being the one holding everything together, that I forgot I was allowed to be tender. Audio Porn came from reclaiming that — from saying I can be a businesswoman, a mental health advocate, a tech founder, AND a woman who writes love songs. Those things aren't opposites. They're all me.
Emotionally, this album was healing work. Every song is a piece of my story — the heartbreak I survived, the self-love I had to learn, the faith that carried me through, the sensuality I thought I'd lost and then found again. I wanted other women, especially women my age, to hear it and feel seen. To feel like somebody finally said out loud what they've been feeling in private.
When you listen to Audio Porn, I want you to feel safe enough to be vulnerable. I want you to feel like it's okay to want tenderness and passion and connection, no matter what age you are or what you've been through. I want you to close your eyes and let the music hold you. That's what audio porn means to me — sound that loves you back.
This album is available everywhere you stream music — Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, Amazon, wherever you listen. If you've been sleeping on my R&B side, now's the time. Put on your headphones, dim the lights, and let Audio Porn do what it was made to do: touch your soul.
